Traveling will be some of Obama’s activities to come home. When he was a child, he lived a few years in Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country. White House spokesman, Robert Gibbs, said that during the trip, Obama will be officially launched cooperation with Indonesia.
If the President Barack Obama is not delayed in Indonesia, he might not only enjoying the beauty of Java, Barack Obama will visit Bali, two of the many islands in Indonesia that are known as the International tourism destination. In Bali, Obama will visit 3-4 places. However, it is certainly that Obama and his entourage, will visit Jimbaran, Uluwatu, and will be staying at one of the major hotels in Nusa Dua, Bali.
Nusa Dua Bali is known as an international enclave of 5-star resorts in south-eastern Bali. It is located 40 kilometres from Denpasar, the capital city of Bali, and administered by South KutaDistrict. Nusa Dua means the second island.
In the northern of Nusa Dua enclave, there is Tanjung Benoa peninsula that includes less exclusive hotels and Benoa village. A multi-denominational area, it includes a mosque, and Chinese and Hindu temples in close proximity to each other.
In a press release issued by the White House some time ago, Obama mentioned Indonesia as the fourth largest country, the third largest democracy, and the largest Muslim country in the world. This was confirmed Indonesia as the leader in Southeast Asia in any sense. It also confirms that Indonesian’s geostrategic is very important.
Obama is scheduled launching a comprehensive cooperation Indonesia-the U.S. with President Yudhoyono. The cooperation is intended to expand and strengthen Indonesia relationship with the U.S. in addressing regional and global issues. Indonesia and the U.S. want a more comprehensive relationship in the field of energy, environment, health, science, investments, and explore to increase trading from both countries.
Uluwatu temple is located on a high cliff over the ocean on Bali’s south-western tip. Besides the fantastic view from the temple, especially the sunset, the temple is known as monkeys’ gang and perhaps, appropriate to its Kecak dance performance.
The temple itself opens only for Hindus. You can visit the rest of the complex every day. The Kecak dance is held every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening starting when it is sunset (6 to 7 pm). With the temple and sunset as the background, this is the best place in Bali to watch the Kecak dance.
Ulu Watu area, especially the beaches located on northern of the temple, are also world-renowned for surfing. Suluban Beach is the place for surfing in Bali, even though we must hike down a narrow gorge on the cliffs firstly. Uluwatu, which is located on the southern tip of Bali and led to Indian Ocean, is a wonderful tourism object.
The most interesting thing to see here is a temple standing firmly on the reef that is jutted into the sea with height about 50 meters. In the late afternoon, you can watch Balinese dance performance which is famous in foreign countries, Kecak dance, by enjoying the beautiful sunset.
Of course, I hope Obama and his family can reminisce with Indonesian food such as fried rice, pecel lele (fried catfish with chili and raw vegetable), satay, Empal (fried beef), soto, gudeg which have been known worldwide because of the delicious flavors.
